This was torture at its very worst. Ever human was so tempting. Analyzing all the ways to kill them, and how to lead them away from the crowd so he could feed... It was all too much to bear. How were the others dealing with it? Edward and Emmet seemed perfectly and absolutely fine. Practice makes perfect Jasper sighed. He also hated how so many females, some of which were not single, were turning their heads as he walked, clearly uncomfortable, down the crowded hallway. He stuck his hands into his pockets, trying to relax. There were so may warm, beating hearts... He could have thrown up his hands in frusturation. Sure Jasper had super human strength, unnatural speed and beauty. But no, the hardest task was to resist killing anyone for twenty four hours.
His adoptive brothers were nowhere to be seen. Probably skipped. Carlisle insisted he had more practice co-existing with humans. Jasper had never thought it would be so hard. As he walked, focused on keeping a human pace, the most wonderful aroma in the world drifted through the air. For a moment, all attention was on the scent, so tempting. And a moment was all he needed for his feet to automatically take him towards the source. He fought to keep control. If he killed or maimed someone then, their secret would be blown. His family would be dissapointed in him. That thought was the one that stopped him. But it was too late. Jazz stood in front of a human girl, pretty and small. She looked so frail compared to him. He thought quickly and felt eyes burn into his back and gossip spreading. "Sorry, just wondering where English is?" Her scent. It was floral some how. It stood out among the rest. Like an alcohol addict comparing champagne and stale beer. Breathtaking. Something about this girl seemed special to him. Like he was supposed to be with her...

She wasn’t entirely sure about her cousin, but Alice quite liked it here. There was something about the way everything was green and natural looking. It was unlike Arizona, it wasn’t hot, the weather seemed chilled, cloudy but in a way that she could easily bundle up and be comfortable still. Blankets, things like that were comfortable in her eyes, that was the problem with Arizona, she couldn’t sleep without a blanket, but if she put one on, she ended up sweating herself to death.
Luckily the school was pretty simple, not many places to go or end up lost in. Still, she held onto a map just in case. Eyes blinking rapidly as she turned down a hall, where people seemed to be walking quickly, as if they were avoiding something or someone. Trying to ignore it, Alice quickly pushed forward, looking for her class, eyes on the map rather than where she was going. She came to a halt quickly, shock coloring the small girls face as she looked up at the pale boy – no, he looked more like a man – stopped in front of her. For a moment what he had said hadn’t registered, because all Alice could do was stare, her mouth hanging open like an idiot.
Real smooth Alice, she thought to herself, forcing her jaw shut and trying to stutter out words. “Uh… I-I’m headed that way too… actually… next class over, I think…” She swallowed thickly, pointing to her map, and feeling rather stupid. Again she stared, because after all, he was gorgeous. Just wait until she told Bella. Alice barely noticed the way the other students were glancing warily at him, but it didn’t matter, because it really didn’t make sense. “I can… walk with you, if you’d like.” She offered, shrugging slightly and doing her best to offer a wide, warm smile.

"Sure" Jasper smiled in amusement as this girl spoke to him. It had been a while since she'd interacted with a human. It was surprising he chose to do it then with a student who's scent was so mouthwatering... His jaw stiffened. This was no time to think about such things. He relaxed. Or tried to, at least. He felt a wave of...embarassment? No, maybe she was just uncomfortable. Was he making her feel that way? Instead of leaving though, something kept him with her...
Jasper stood still, letting Alice lead the way. He liked her immediately. Not just for her deliciously floral smell, something else that he just couldn't put a finger on. "So, are you new here?" Jazz asked curiously. He hadn't seen her face before. He'd ask Edward later. He walked at a steady pace, weaving in and out past the students that gave him second glances. They were probably thinking why he was with the new girl. Tearing his attention back to Alice. The fire in his throat had died a smidge bit, barely noticeable. But it was progress. Hopefully.
"I don't remember seeing you" Jasper said, looking down at Alice. She was pretty. And for some reason, he considered her prettier than the vampires that he had met before. Something about her glowed. Maybe it was just his thirst getting to his head, but maybe not...

Heart beating rather erratically in her chest, the small girl nodded slowly, clearly elated with the attention. She really didn’t care for attention usually, sure it was fun sometimes, but when it came to this guy… something was different. “I’m Alice… by the way,” no need to bother him with her first name, she preferred Alice anyway. It fit her so much better than Mary. Trying to match his pace as she walked with him, a faint blush colored her cheeks, because now she was fully aware that some of the students were watching. The only reason for it she could think up was that she was new and they were curious, or maybe they were both new, if he didn’t know where he was going either. At least here she had a fresh start, where no one thought she was mildly crazy for those rare moments that she dreamed up things and then swore they happened.
Blush deepening; she nodded quickly, trying to keep her feet as she glanced at the map. “Yeah, I just moved here with my cousin,” for a change of scenery, and other things. “You?” Maybe he was new too, that would be nice, so it wasn’t just her and Bella who were getting stared at. Although it seemed like there were more eyes on him than on her at the moment. Probably because he was gorgeous, which made her look rather dim.
He did seem a bit uncomfortable though, stiff. Alice found herself studying him, his every move, the way his skin was impossibly pale and his features impossibly perfect. He even smelt good. Inhaling deeply and hoping it just looked like she was taking in a breath, rather than smelling him, she glanced over at him. “Do people always stare at you?” They must, because he didn’t seem fazed by it. She would have been asking them what they were looking at by now. Actually, she was thinking about doing it anyway.

"I'm Jasper" Jazz said, matching his pace flawlessly with Alice's. He saw her blush deepening. Strangely, this time he wasn't annoyed by it. As he walked, he started to notice every little sound that he passed. Lockers slamming shut, rumours flying through the air, guys asking girls out. The usual. The bright lights whirred above them, and the floor would have reflected the light if it weren't for the fact it as so poorly cleaned.
Jasper nodded, paying attention to every word she said. "You could say that" he offered a warm smile etched its way onto his pale features. He heard the girl's heart beating faster and faster, and with each beat, it was almost like he was getting less and less tempted to kill her. Of course though, the urge was still strong.
He chuckled lightly at Alice's question. "I get used to it" Jasper replied. If only they knew who he really was... Would they still look at him the same way? Now that he thought about it, he really wasn't so sure. Surely they had to have some common sense, after all, he himself had been a human before too. Although the memories of his first life were dim and fuzzy, Jazz remembered bits and pieces. Better than nothing.
People rushed by him to get to class, a whirlwind of paper and 'goodbyes'. English was only a few steps away now, but he was reluctant to let Alice go. "How about we continue our conversation at lunch?" Jasper asked, hope sparked in his voice. That would be nice. Although he wasn't sure why he asked... Was it really for the reason he had originaly stated?

Jasper, it was a rather uncommon name, like a name from a different century. Not that she had much room to talk, what her parents were thinking when they named her; they must have thought she’d be old fashion or something. They had it somewhat right, and at least she quite liked being called Alice. Unless someone referenced the Brady Bunch, then she may have to attack someone. “Nice to meet you, Jasper,” she smiled kindly, trying to get her heart beat to slow down. She was going to have a heart attack at this rate. It took a lot of will power not to put her hand over it, but really, she didn’t need anyone asking questions about why she was holding her chest. The blush was bad enough.
For a moment she was confused, what did that mean? She was under the impression that it was a yes or no question, but she made the mistake of looking at him and the thought left her mind immediately. It was as if he’d never said anything because her mind went completely blank. What were they talking about? “Oh,” she managed out, although still unsure of what was even said. It just seemed like a response that could work for nearly anything, or at least, she hoped it could. Or she could just look stupid; it would happen eventually if she talked to him again, seeing that she kept losing her train of thought. Again, she was real smooth.
“Me?” she questioned, before shaking her head at herself and sighing, “I mean… yeah, that’d be great.” Again, her heart beat seemed to accelerate, she wasn’t sure how though, it was already felt like it was going a hundred and twenty miles an hour. Hugging herself slightly, she glanced at her class, which was just next to his as she’d predicted, almost reluctant to go. How crazy would people think she was if she just… accidentally followed him into his class instead?
