The whole last night Leah had spent with running patrols. But now fianlly Sam had told her to go home and get some rest. She was kind of happy about the fact to get away from everything. A night in which she had the others in her head was simply enough for some time. Also she wanted to look after her mother. Leah knew her mother was alone a lot since Seth and she had joined the Pack. This made Leah feel kind of guilty, because she loved her mother and she don´t wanted her to be alone so often. But on the other hand she knew right now it couldn´t be any different. As she walked down the streets of La Push, she noticed that today many people seemed to be outside. But it was an unusual nice day, Leah noticed suddenly. Today the sun was to see and only a few clouds were on the sky. Something that was really rare for La Push and Forks. After all the small town of Forks, had the title to be the town with the most rain in the United States, she remebered. So sun was something special and on days like this everyone wanted to get some sun, she thought amused to herself. Now as she walked down the main street, her thoughts returned back to her mother and to getting home. Leah decided that once she got home, she would take a short nap and then look after her mother.
Now she reached the small house were they lived in. Out of the pockets of her jeans, she pulled her keys. Then she unlocked the door and stepped inside. "Mum I am home!" she called into the house. But no one answered her. This was kind of strange, normally her mother was home when she or Seth came home, but today it was different. When Leah walked into the kitchen, she found a note of her mother. On the note her mother asked her to drive over to the Swans and invite Charlie and his daughter for dinner. Leah sighed as she read it. She couldn´t hide that she disliked that Bella girl. Or better said in front of others she normally pretended to be nice to her, but behind everyones back she just hated her. It was simply because of the fact, that Bella was getting along so well with Jake. But Leah wouldn´t have admitted it to anyone around her. After she had been standing in the kitchen for a moment unsure. She finally walked back into the hallway, getting the car keys. Then she left the house again. Leah was sure her mother was already doing shopping for dinner, so she better was fast with passing on the invitation, she thought to herself. So she fastly got into the car and started the engine.
It was not a long drive from La Push to Forks, but after all it was not Leahs wish to get to Forks as soon as possible. So she drove really slow. It seemed like today wasn´t her day, everything seemed to get worse with every second, she thought to herself. After a while she finally reached Forks. The small town wasn´t that big, but still Leah drove a few detours. She hoped to not meet Bella when she came to the Swans. It would be much better if she met Charlie, she thought to herself. As much as Leah disliked Bella, she did still know how much Charlie had looked after her mother, when her father had died. Charlie had really tried to help her mother and for that fact Leah was still thankfull. After all she hadn´t spent much time around home, when her father had died, because she couldn´t stand it. Leah was totally lost in her thoughts, so that at first she didn´t noticed that her car got slower. But when the car came to a stop, Leah was really surprised and angry. "Oh great, the day gets better and better!" she said sarcastically to herself as she climbed out of the car. Leah looked around herself, but the streets were empty right now. Angrily Leah walked around her car and looked down the road, waiting for someone to stop by and helped her with her car problems. But no one was to see, Leah sighed and leaned against her car, waiting for someones help.

Jessica got into her little car and slammed the door. She looked in the mirror, and sighed. She had had a rough morning. When she got up she had to tidy the house because Cameron's drunk friends had been over and they trashed the place. Cameron was smarter than them, he didn't drink because his father was recovering but he was still friends with his gang.Jessica didn't like having the stink of the alcohol or the bottles and cans left everywhere, she didn't want to make it any harder than it was for her father. She ended up scrubbing sick of the carpet. Then she had to get both the boys up, not an easy task. When she found out the cupboards where empty of course she was sent to the not so local supermarket. She hadn't had time to put any make-up on or straighten her hair, she was praying to god she didn't meet anyone. She would probably die, especially if it was someone from her school. In the mirror her forehead was creased and her eyebrows were pulled together. She pulled out of the drive way in the little car that her and her Dad fixed up in his garage. She loved it to bits but it was a bit too small for her liking. It was also a mess, makeup, magazines, food packaging and stuff were scattered all about. It was a little renault clio from 1995, but her and her Dad Andy, fixed it up well new seats and paint everything.
She drove along the road at a speed of 40, she wasn't in a hurry but she knew they'd want their food soon. The sun was shining and it made Jessica laugh.Probably the best day of the year and she wasn't going to get to enjoy it.It hit her window in a way that made her squint but it also amde the inside of the car roasting. It was times like that she was glad she told her Dad she didn't want the leather seats. She was driving along when she was almost sure she saw Lauren Mallory walking past the park. She bit her lip and ducked a bit but she had to see where she was going. She saw Lauren watching her car, it was a time like that Jess wished she hadn't got personalized number plates. She kept looking at her Car funny but she didn't seem to spot Jessica. She breathed a long sigh of relief and sat back up.She was amazed she hadn't hit someone or at least something. She turned on the radio to try to calm her self down and she found her self humming along to her favourite tunes. She had passed the busy roads and she just turned onto the diserted ones.
She was singing out loud now a bit happier. The roads were quite empty, a car only passed her an odd time. She was driving along when she saw a tall, bruntette girl leaning against her car.She was frowning and she seemed to be looking for help.Jessica looked at the dashboard at the long shopping list and money. She wasn't far from the shop now, she bit her lip. She was trying to decide between helping the girl and getting the groceries. She had to think fast though as she would be passing the girl soon. She wasn't supposed to be picking up strangers but the girl did seem harmless.Jessica sighed "Looks like I'm not the only one havning a bad day," he mumbled to herself as she turned into the girl. She stooped the car and got out slamming the door behind her absentmindly. She smiled at the girl "Hey, Im Jessica. You need some help? " She said still smiling. Jess knew it was a bit of a stupid question but she didn't know what else to say. She'd probably get it threw back in her face but then again she was helping her so the girl probably couldn't afford to.

Still there was no one to see around here, Leah sighed. Her day had started bad and now it had gotten even worse. Sarcastically she thought to herself, what could happen next. Leah thought one moment about phasing into her wolf form. But she pushed that thought aside quickly again. After all she couldn´t just leave the car here. Not that she was afraid someone would steal it. It was an old car, like most of the cars around here, but it was still standing on the street. Leah searched in her pockets for her cell phone, but she hadn´t taken it with her. So it seemed she was doomed to wait here until a car came by. What was not really likely, she thought to herself. After all she had droven some detours, what meant she had taken a few smaller streets, on which normally not many people drove. But Leah still hoped for a miracle. At least once in her life something could have gone her way, she thought to herself. It seemed like she was getting all the bad luck. Since her change everything seemed to go wrong. It was like live wanted to show her it all could get even worse. Her glance went down to her watch, it was already afternoon. What meant she should have hurried, because her mother would be angry if she wasn´t punctual, but what could she do if no one came by, maybe pushing the car down the road, she thought amused to herself.
When she heared a sound she looked up again. A smile appeared on her face as she saw a car driving down the road. Seemed that at least she got some luck. Now the driver of the other car simply needed to stop. But she knew there were many drivers who would just drive past her, maybe she was lucky and the driver of that car would stop. Leah noticed a moment later that the driver of the other car, was a girl around her age. So maybe that girl would have compassion and stop to help her. A moment later the girl slowed down her car until it came to a final stop. Leah felt really thankfull to the girl in that moment. The girl got out of her car and said smiling friendly at her "Hey, Im Jessica. You need some help? " Leah returned the friendly smile and said "Yes I need help, my car just broke down and I can´t get it started again." she added "I am Leah, nice to meet you Jessica." Looking back at her car for a moment she said smiling to the other girl "You are my rescue, I thought I would stay here all night." She waited for the girls next reaction. Leah was now trying to be really nice to the girl after all, she was the only one that could get her out of this situation.
She apologized in the next moment "I am really sorry that I waste your time like this." She added thankfull "So if there is something I can do to thank you just let me know." and laughed reliefed now. Seemed like finally everything was going to be alright, so once her car would run again she could continue her way to the Swans. Normally Leah wouldn´t have been so talkative, but right now she was just so reliefed that she soon could leave this place, that she couldn´t thank that girl enough. Her glance went back to her watch, it had gotten again later. "Oh not good I should be over at the Swans house already." she sighed silently more to herself. Her mother would freak out if she was late. If there was one thing her mother really hated then it was unreliability. That meant Leah had to hurry now. But on the other hand, she hadn´t wanted any of this, so why not waste some time. If her mother would ask later, she could still say that the car had broke down. About that fact, her mother couldn´t say anything, she thought satisfied to herself. So now she waited what Jessica was going to do, she seemed like a nice person, so it could have been much worse, Leah thought to herself, with a still small happy little smile.

Jessica realized then, no one was supposed to see her as she looked a mess. She didn't know how she forgot, she was probably too focused on doing the right thing. It wasn't very like her, she must have been becoming a better person. Lately she had been putting her family before herself, so it must have been the same for others. Or maybe because she hadn't seen her mother in so long that the selfishness she had adapted from her was wearing off. Things in the house had been happier even with all the stress Jessica had. Any way Jess was proud. But that was hidden by her panic.Although the girl was being friendly to her so that helped. She said "Yes I need help, my car just broke down and I can´t get it started again.I am Leah, nice to meet you Jessica. You are my rescue, I thought I would stay here all night. ".She smiled
"Well Leah, your in luck because the girl that came to rescue you is the daughter of the local machanic" She smiled. Her Dad had taught her alot about it, and she learned quickly. She had come to love it and she definitley saw it as a possible career. She looked back to the girl, she looked just as stressed as Jess did."Come on lets look under the hood" She said walking over to the front of the hood, waiting for her to follow. She opened it up and took a look. She could see what was wrong but she didn't know the term, she didn't like learning the boring stuff. No, if Jess was going to learn something it had to be better than school.
"Can you go over to my car and in the back seat there's a yellow toolbox?" She asked Leah. It was quite old and the paint was scratched.First it was her dad's then cam's, and when he bought a new one it was Jessica's.She didn't know if their was much she could do to help the car with the amount of ttols she had with her. "Are you in a hurry?" Jess asked her looking up from under the bonnet.Jessica didn't want to go to the shops much, and she was sure the boys would manage. Aka they'd be at the diner by now. So she could take Leah where she was going, and then ring her Dad to tow the car to his garage.

"Well Leah, your in luck because the girl that came to rescue you is the daughter of the local machanic" Jessica told her a moment later. A again a smile appeared on Leahs face and she said "Wow my car breaks down and the first person that comes around knows something about cars, I consider myself as really lucky right now!" Leah had never been good with cars, or at least she didn´t knew how to fix them. Sure she could tell what was a good car and what not, also she had watched Jake a few times when he had worked on his car, but that was all. "Come on lets look under the hood" Jessica said and walked over to Leahs car. She followed her and waited patiently for Jessica to tell her what to do. "So do you know what´s wrong with the car?" Leah asked her. After Jessica had opened the hood and looked into the car. As Jessica watched the car her glance went back on her watch. So she saw she still had time, she was sure her mother would need a while to get all her things home, but then she would expect Leah and her guests to be home every second. In that moment she felt kind of angry about her mother, after all she did knew that Leah really couldn´t stand Bella. She wondered what was her mothers big plan behind all of this. But a moment later she gave up, because she knew she was not going to get it.
She was torn out of her thoughts when Jessica said to her "Can you go over to my car and in the back seat there's a yellow toolbox?" Leah nodded and walked over to the car. There she opened the back door of the car. She looked around until she discovered the yellow toolbox. She took it out of the car and closed the door again behind herself. Leah then walked over to Jessica again and said with a still friendly smile "Okay, here is it!" and added a moment later "So you can fx it?" with relief in her voice. "Are you in a hurry?" Jessica asked her a moment later. Leah answered her "Kind of." A moment later she decided to explain to Jessica. "See my mother sent me to pass on an invitation for dinner to Charlie Swan and his daughter." she added with a crooked smile "Well and if we are not going to be back for dinner punctual, she will probably get angry." then she had to laugh about her words. She knew it must sound funny, but it was the truth. Then she waited for Jessicas response. Maybe she couldn´t fix the car, that fast. But maybe her father could, this thought made her hopefull again. Patiently she watched Jessica look for her car and waiting for what Jessica had to say.

"Yeah, I think I know," Jessica said still looking. Jess looked up and took the little tool box from her, a wonder she found it under the clutter in Jessica's car. She opened it up and found a few things. Though the box was passed down the things in it were not. Everyone cleared it out before giving it to the next generation. She sighed and looked back under the hood. She took her spanner with her. Then a moment later after being asked could she fix it she said "Fix ittt..." Jessica trailed off. She didn't want to disappoint her after telling her she was the mechanics daughter, getting her hopes up. She couldn't make a promise she couldn't keep though, and then she get her hopes up even higher. She tried to fix it but she was afraid of making it worse.
She looked up at Leah and said "Okay so I can't fix it, but I'll take you were your going," She said. She knew the town like the back of ther hand. Jess always knew what was going on in it too. "And I'll call my Dad who's starting work soon to come pick it up and bring it back to his place. Then when its done I'll take you to the garage so you can pick t up." Jessica smiled. It was a good offer, but she felt bad about leaving her there. She had nothing to that day anyway, and like she said the boys would be paying for their meal by now. They had no patience when it came to food. Then Leah said where she was going. "The Swans?" She asked with two eyebrows raised and a little smile. She had heard of the new girl Bella and that all the boys drooled over her. Jessica didn't like that but then again she hadn't met Bella yet. She was dying too. "I know where they live." She said. The bella girl was new but her father Charlie had lived there a long time. "And Dad will be quick too." She added with a smile. Jessica realised now that doing a good thing always paided off. She was going o get to see this girl. She was suddendly very glad she went out of her way to help Leah. *Thank You!* She thought.
